Encouragement Cards

Woodland Fairies

dscn1139

I had a request to put together a card from the August 2016 Monthly Hero Arts Kit.  I love this kit and the beautiful fairies it comes with!  Although the stamp set and kit are not available, I do think that with all the fairy stamps and woodland dies that have been recently released, you could come up with a similar look.

Here is my video showing the card making process: Fairy Card

Below is a bonus card I made using the same supplies from the kit.  I added gemstones and used more of the stamps from the stamp set to create a floral oval frame.

Below are some close-ups of both cards

Just Because Cards

Did someone say coffee?

So today is National Coffee Day!  One of the best days ever for any coffee lover, really.  I spent the day looking at lovely coffee themed cards, and then slapped myself and said, “Go make one!”  So I put one together really quick to get it up in time and I really like how it turned out.  I have to say I really like how my cards turn out when I make ’em quick and with limited supplies.  I tend to think too much and then make cards more complicated than they need to be.  When I don’t think and just do it, they are almost perfect!

Video link below to show how I made the card:

I used texture paste with some Distress Ink Ground Espresso to create the color of the chevron pattern.  The color became darker as the texture paste dried.

I will be working on my 10 cards for this kit and hopefully have it up in my YouTube channel this weekend!  Any links for the products or kit (if still available) will be posted in the description box on my YouTube channel.

** COMING UP!***

My fall series!  As I was getting together what stamps I wanted to use last night, it looks like my mini fall series may not be so mini after all.  I will be making 12 fall themed cards with some awesome stamp sets I have purchased over the past couple months.  I know we haven’t even reached October, but I wanted to do these series early just in case you wanted to make some cards for friends and family.

After my fall series concludes in October I am going to jump right on in to my Holiday Card Series.  I cannot wait to bust out my Christmas stamps!  It has been hard not to get them out now and start making Christmas cards.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful week!

10 Cards – 1 Kit | Ghostly Greetings from Simon Says Stamp

dscn1119

I am so excited to finally share my 10 cards from the Ghostly Greetings Card Kit Simon Says Stamp released for STAMPtember.  It is an adorable card kit that sold out quickly. Below is a link to my unboxing video of everything that came in the kit.

Unboxing video for Ghostly Greetings!

When creating these cards I used most of what came in the card kit.  At times I did bring in some supplies such as solid colored card stock, dies, and ink in order to complete the cards.  Below you will find pictures of each project with a brief description.

Scroll to the bottom of this post for a link to the video where I created these 10 cards!

*********

I loved using an ink splatter (not included in kit) to create this look.  This can be done easily without a stamp, but a stamp offers some control.  Look how adorable that little ghost is!

I rarely make shaker cards, but decided this stamp set was so cute that a shaker card would work perfectly with the paper and stamp.  The kit came with a great mixture of sequins.

dscn1112

This Doodlebug Boos & Brews paper pack was so much fun!  I went a little crazy on the sequins, but love the final outcome.

dscn1110

Of course I had to include tags!  These tags were made using Lawn Fawn tag dies.

dscn1113

This pattern paper had some great strips of sentiments.  I decided to give the characters from the stamp set a break and only used patterned paper for this card.  Touched it off with some Nuvo Drops that are included in the kit.  Really loving the Nuvo drops!

dscn1107

Love the tree stencil that was included in the kit!  Did some ink blending and added a crooky fence from MFT to my scene.  I busted out the adorable google eyes included in the kit to give the trick or treaters a fun look – or my everyday look. 🙂

dscn1111

This card was made using a sheet of patterned paper that was included in the kit.  Not one stamped image here!  Added some clear Spectrum Noir glitter, glossy accents, and sequins.

dscn1109

Once again I just used patterned paper for this card.  Stamped candy corns with some white pigment ink and topped the card off with Nuvo drops.

dscn1106

The kit came with bags and battery operated candles to create luminaries.  I die cut circles and added my characters with some accessories.  The paper doilies were purchased at Michaels.  I hadn’t had a chance to use them yet, and they ended up being the perfect size!

dscn1114

I had the lights off, but my camera refused to take a dark picture.  Really cute as the lights flicker.

dscn1117

Finally I created this card by using some gray card stock to create a background.  Topped the card off with sequins and a couple pumpkins.  Love this little fairy stamp!

Welcome!

Welcome to my first blog post!  I hope you join me in my journey through card making and paper crafts.  I have been card making since around March of this year and I can’t stop!  After watching a TON of YouTube videos on card making, I asked myself why wasn’t I doing videos?!  So I started my YouTube channel in August and I have already hit over 1000 subscribers!  My heart is full!

The next step was to create this blog for my followers so I could communicate with you in other ways other than my YouTube channel.  It is also a great way for me to add more pictures and content that I don’t necessarily have on my YouTube channel.

If you have not checked out my YouTube channel, please do!  Subscribe so you don’t miss a thing and while you are at it, subscribe to my blog so you do not miss any posts.  I am so happy you are here!
