So I wanted to tell you guys about what I had planned for the new year for my YouTube channel. I’m leaving this “schedule” open to changes if necessary, but this is at least my goal.
UPCOMING MONTHLY SERIES – These series will be posted on Mondays:
- Patterned Paper Series in January
- Layering Stamp Series in February
- Cards For Men in March
- Graduation Cards in April
- Not Your Average Card in May – this one will be a lot of fun!
10 CARDS 1 KIT SERIES – This series will continue, but like I said in a previous video, card kits may vary each month. Currently for January I have Love From Lizi and Unity Stamp Co planned. For Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp I will post on my Facebook Page if I will be purchasing kits when they are released each month, so make sure you follow my Facebook by clicking here. That way you know if a 10 cards 1 kit video will follow. Not sure if anyone cares, lol, but I’m doing it for the few that may!
DESIGN TEAM PROJECTS – As long as I am on said design team the schedule will go as follows:
- Nitwit Collections – at least twice a month on Sundays
- Not 2 Shabby – at least four times a month on Wednesdays
- Love From Lizi – 10 cards 1 kit video each month. I’m also going to try to do other projects from Lizi’s shop throughout the month. 🙂
HOLIDAY SERIES – These series will be posted on Saturdays
- Valentine’s Day Series January 7 – February 11
- Easter Series March 18 – April 8
- Mother’s Day Series April 15 – April 29
- Father’s Day Series May 13 – May 27
COLOR THROWDOWN CHALLENGES – I would like to start participating in these challenges again, so I have designated Friday as the day I will post cards for their current challenge.
HAPPY MAIL HAULS – Starting February I will pick a theme each month where you can create a card according to theme and I will feature it on my YouTube channel. For themes and the address to send your card, visit the ABOUT section of my YouTube channel. Happy Mail is open to everyone all ages and all skill level!
- First of the month I will share theme and create a card according to theme.
- Last day of month I will feature all cards that came in that month.
So that is everything I have planned for the upcoming year. I am really looking forward to a more structured schedule. I hope you guys are having a fantastic New Years Eve and I look forward to new year!
Here is the December Hero Arts card kit for 2016. Although I like the kit I was having trouble finding the inspiration putting together the 10 cards. Some came naturally and turned out really well, while other cards were not so hot, lol. For the process video and a list of supplies, click here.
For the card below I stamped out each image and used my Xyron Sticker Maker to add adhesive to a sheet of vellum. It turned out perfect as I was able to attach my vellum and not worry about where I was going to add adhesive and if it was going to be seen.
For this card I did some quick ink blending and splatter.
This card….. I have no words, but looking at it I think I was channeling a 5 year old…. I hate it, LOL. Keep scrolling!!!
For the card below I used some of the washi tape that came in the kit that is really cute! I love the sun ray (for lack of a better term) die that came in the kit.
My plan for the card below to watercolor a certain way took a turn and I had to scrap my original plan. I used a scallop edge die and heat embossed the cheers stamp for my sentiment.
This card is my favorite! I love this gold foil cardstock that came in the kit. I heat embossed some images in gold embossing powder and they went so well with the paper
I know Christmas is over, but I had to post these to officially end the holiday series for 2016. Below are the last 5 cards of the series.
The sweet card above was day 21. I used this sweet stamp set by Wild Rose Studio. I used my Distress Inks to watercolor the birdies and my Marvy Snow Marker to add some dimension to their little santa hats. For the process video and a list of supplies, click here.
For day 22 I only used one stamp. The fireplace was a die from MFT. I really liked the way this card turned out. I used my distress inks for all the color and a fireplace stencil to create the brick. The patterned paper I used was actually from a Halloween Paper Pack from Tim Holtz. If you would like to see how I made this video and a list of supplies, click here.
On day 23 I created this quick card using a Concord & 9th stamp set. I got inspiration for this card from a similar card posted on their website. However, I decided to stick to traditional colors, green and red, and used patterned paper and a strip of washi tape to finish it off. For the process video and a list of supplies, click here
For day 24 I made this super simple card using MFT Deer Friends stamp set. The background was a larger print piece of patterned paper that was perfect for creating this scene. For the quick process video and a list of supplies used, click here.
For my final day I created this pretty little blue Christmas tree card. I used Hero Arts Christmas Layering stamp set. I wanted to use this patterned paper from Echo Park and wanted the tree to match, so I used three different blue Distress Inks and it turned out perfectly. For the process video and a list of supplies, click here.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas holiday or whatever you chose to celebrate. I will be back in a few days with my 10 cards 1 kit from Hero Arts December Card Kit.
So here are the final days of my 2016 Holiday Tag Series. For day 11 I used new Stampin’ Up items I purchased recently, called Cookie Cutter Christmas. I just couldn’t wait to use them! I also used some of my washi tape to add the sentiment and some quick decoration. Easy and quick for those last minute gifts! For the process video, click here. There you will find a list of supplies as well.
For my final day of my tag series I used Sunny Studios Blissful Baking. This stamp set is beyond words. It is so precious!!!! I colored the images with my Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them since I did not have the dies. This is great for those baked goodies you will be gifting to friends and family. For the process video, click here. There you will find a list of supplies.
Above is day 8 of my holiday tag series. I really wanted to try the chalkboard look and I think it turned out pretty good. I used Tim Holiday Drawings stamp set and white pigment ink. If you would like to see this technique, click here. All supplies used will be in the description box of the video.
For day 9 I used another Tim Holtz stamp set called Scribbly Christmas. I got my inspiration from a Simon Says Stamp blog post by Wanda Guess who made a card using this stamp set. I loved the look and decided to switch it up and make tags. For the process video, click here. You will find links to the supplies there.
Finally for day 10 I used this sweet Clearly Besotted stamp set, Let’s Prance. I love these little reindeer! I did a quick messy water coloring with my Distress Inks to color in the reindeer. If you would like to see the process video, click here. As always supplies are in the description box of video.
Here is day 18 of my holiday card series. I used amazing The Ton stamp sets, Holiday Bows and Grand Bows. These of course are layering stamps and if you have the patience, they come out beautifully! I stuck to traditional Christmas colors, red and green. If you would like to see the process video and how to line them up, click here. There you will find a list of supplies.
Card 19 is a one layer card which is starting to become my favorite type of card! Making a card with no adhesive?! Sign me up! I used Snowy Sayings by Cas-ual Fridays and some Memento Inks to create the cluster of snowflakes. My favorite color combo for Christmas is silver and blue. Loved the way this simple card turned out. If you would like to see the process video, click here. Links to supplies are there as well.
Card 20 was made using MFT Oh Christmas Trees. I love how these cards turned out and by a sweet accident, they are great masculine cards. I used silver and gold embossing powder on black card stock giving the card a different look. I don’t think black card stock is a color people tend to grab when making a Christmas card, but I love it! If you would like to see the process video, click here. Supplies will be linked in the video description.
For day 7 of my tag series, I used this adorable Lawn Fawn stamp set called, Oh Snap! I also used Lawn Fawn’s Bokeh patterned paper. These tags were really quick and offer a little sense of humor that would look nice tied to any gift. These were super easy to put together which is something I always love!
